Nice shots #Hans. Was this a lucky find or is it a known roost?
Hans van Kersbergen
This one in Voorschoten is a spot from this year. I saw it on www.waarneming.nl the other is a known roost. The known roosts in my area are empty this year. Or we can't find.

I think there are Bewick's Swans in there too, Hans.
Hans van Kersbergen
Thanks Barry. 'll take a closer look. I did see those smaller swans, but didn't take the time to look closely.
Barry Farquharson
Seems to be a few of them. Last photo has a Bewick's to the left of a Whooper in the centre of the shot. One of the others looks to have a Bewick's at either end. I'd be very happy to find just 1 over here.
Hans van Kersbergen
Good morning Barry. You're right there are a few Bewickii in between. Here in the Netherlands they are seen at about 60 locations. Varying from 2 pieces to a group of 80 pieces .. Kind regards Hans

You were just a bit south of me there #Hans looking across the North Sea.
Hans van Kersbergen
I had taken a look at the map. Indeed.. :) My home is 32 km straight inland from that point.... Today I have been more to the south on the coast. Many sea birds seen far out to sea with the scope.
Andrew Goodall
I am a few km North of that point, then a few more km inland. It is about a 45 minute drive to reach the North Sea coast for me.

Always enjoy seeing these #Hans. Unfortunately I don't hear them anymore. Too high pitched for my aged hearing!
Hans van Kersbergen
Hëë Andrew.. I didn't know this.. Loot what I found... Learned something again .... # These little birds also make nice sounds. In fact, they are so thin that they are at the upper limit of what humans can perceive.. Older birders can sometimes no longer hear it....
Andrew Goodall
Very true. My wife hears them and tells me then I look for them. Team work!
