This is the new osprey platform which I failed to get a photo of the osprey. The original one was cut down with an electric saw by vandals

What a tragedy. Was the nest damaged??
Caroline George
Yes totally ruined. They managed to get some of it out of the water but the eggs had gone
Candice Bagley
Oh man that’s horrible. So glad there’s a new platform thanks the the Wildlife Trust but it’s totally heart wrenching that the eggs are gone.
Caroline George
I know.

Amazing watching this grey heron today. Stood in the shallow waters then tried to slide down the bank and ended up on one leg in the canal
Caroline George
Out walking yesterday and saw 6 of these birds sitting on fence posts. I think they are mistle thrushes but not a 100 % sure

Your gull looks like a Great Black Backed Gull, Caroline. Biggers and darker than Herring Gull. and legs appear to be pink (more visible on the feet).
Caroline George
Ah right. That's good to know. Thanks ever so much.

Took a photo of this lovely bird whilst it was enjoying a bit of scenery

What they lack in rarity they make up for in character ( and cooperation with photographers 😁)
Caroline George
That is so true. Never moved once whereas the goldcrest is such a tricky one to capture
Matthew Hyde
Round my way these are doing pretty well, I'm sure there's more of them about this year
Caroline George
Yes I have noticed quite a few more than usual and in groups as well
Caroline George
This was gorgeous to see flying around on holiday
