The perk of going to the garden when it overcast and cool weather, means there are fewer than usual ppl also there. Means this little guy could hawk to his heart content in the upper garden.

End July and beginning Aug is the start of both "daisy" season in the Namaqualand, and flamingo season it seems (te he he) . there were loads, but only this 1 chap was close enough for my camera.

We think the patch of white stones is a nest. The 1 adult nestled down and then got up and started re-arranging the furniture as we were watching.
