Well guys my camera died, I had a Nikon coolpix and it worked fine but I’m wondering if there’s a better camera for bird watching/ photographing?

Me too! I have a Canon SX70 and am quite happy with it. It’s got lots of zoom and is easy to use. It’s a bit slow to focus but that’s ok

I'm sorry to hear about your Coolpix, Rob. I had an FZ82 (maybe the same model as you) but the zoom froze on me. I now have a Nikon P950, which has an amazing zoom. I am still learning how to control it properly! :)

I do like those Nikons my issue was the battery door broke, and now it won’t close and if you force it closed then the connections must be worn and it won’t turn on.

Depends on your priorities and budget really. A DSLR will focus faster and give better quality photos than a bridge camera but will add weight (and likely cost also) when a long lens is factored in.
