Hey John the one reply I’ve gotten was similar to what I thought but I’m also waiting on an approval to a waterfowl specific ID group to see what they think but what I think and the other guy that replied thinks also leans towards a Canada Goose x Lesser White-fronted Goose hybrid.

I don’t think Cackling alone would give it that color bill and white band around it also Cackling is about the size of a Mallard. The color is Cackling / Canada. Whilst never any guarantees on how hybrids might turn out. Usually Canada X White front (Great or Lesser) more often than not have the bill shape of a white front.
