Today is World Wildlife Day and this year it is celebrated under the theme: 'Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet'. Researching the theme of this years World Wildlife Day is how I found David Letsoalo, an Award winning local bird guide.
He has been been guiding for 18 years and is one of the top birding guides in South Africa, having been awarded the Eagle award by Birdlife South Africa for his exceptional guiding skills.
The United Nations has proclaimed the 3rd of March as World Wildlife Day to celebrate and raise awareness of wild animals and plants. With the theme this year it was very fitting to go birding with David as he is very knowledgeable about the forest and he also coordinates the Cape Parrot monitoring in the Woodbush forest.
