4k Close up of a Nankeen Kestrel (Falco cenchroides) - Darryl, the rescue Nankeen Kestrel at the Arid Recovery office in Roxby Downs was taking drinking in the shade on this very (43C) day. I was on assignment documenting the conservation and research work undertaken at AridRecovery and using a Canon EOS 5Dmk4, the first time I had a 4K camera and wanted to test it out. The detail is incredible on the original file and I hope it's visible despite the compression online.
The Nankeen Kestrel is in the falcon family (Falconidae) and is a relatively small raptor. They are found in most areas of Australia and are also found on islands along Australia's coastline, as well as New Guinea and Indonesia.
